The filter is the first line of defence between outdoor air and the air entering your home. EVOAQ offers filtration options for different indoor-air-quality requirements.
A ventilation system does more than move air. The quality of the incoming air depends heavily on the filtration system, and the right filter needs to balance particle removal, airflow and maintenance.
Outdoor air can contain fine particles from traffic, smoke, dust, pollen and other sources. The filter helps prevent those particles from being carried into the living spaces while also protecting the ventilation fan and internal components from accumulating dust.
A loaded filter can increase resistance to airflow and reduce system performance. That is why filter selection and regular inspection are part of a properly designed ventilation system.
PM2.5 filtrationThe EVOAQ Premium Filter Box uses primary PM2.5 filter media specified as F7 equivalent, with a secondary filtration stage.
Advanced air cleaningFor homes where a higher level of air cleaning is wanted, the Air Purification Box adds multiple filtration stages.
It is useful to separate the terms used to describe different stages of filtration. EVOAQ's primary PM2.5 media is specified as F7 equivalent. A secondary HEPA stage can provide additional particulate filtration, while activated carbon is used for gases and odours rather than simply adding another particle filter.
The actual filter arrangement is important. Premium and air-purification boxes are designed around replaceable filter media, with the correct airflow direction and sealing essential for the system to work as intended.
Even a good filter cannot perform properly when it is heavily loaded. EVOAQ recommends checking the filter 6 months after installation and then at least every 12 months. Replacement is recommended at least every 2 years, or sooner if inspection shows the filter needs replacing.
Premium Filter Boxes and Air Purification Boxes are designed so the filter media can be removed and replaced. The airflow direction and filter orientation need to be correct, with no bypass gaps around the media.
There is no single filter that is automatically right for every property. The appropriate filtration depends on the ventilation system, the outdoor environment, the home's requirements and the level of air cleaning wanted.
